Blood Diamond Witch Wolf Book 3 edition by RJ Blain Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

First the disclaimer: I beta read and helped proofread and edit Blood Diamond. I got no payment for my assistance nor do I want any. I did not get a free copy for review; I bought my copy, because I love RJ Blain's books and want her to continue to write wonderful, glorious words. After I bought my copy, I found out RJ thanked me by naming me in the dedication. Having the book dedicated to me will not affect my review, although it did cause squeals of joy.

I passionately loved the book as a beta reader. I have now read Blood Diamond 4 times, I think, and I still love it. RJ Blain's character interactions are so well done I feel like I know these people; we are friends, and I care what happens to them. I hurt with them, and when they are silly and happy, I am happy, too. Blood Diamond is more of a romance than Inquisitor and Winter Wolf, but it is still what I classify as urban fantasy or contempory fantasy. Although it could be read as a standalone, I recommend reading at least Winter Wolf first.

Jackson is a witch who knows the names of the dead, and his brother is the Inquisition's Shadow Pope. When an Inquisition operation goes horribly wrong, Jackson meets someone who will forever change his life. The thrills, chills, excitement, horror, laughs, betrayals, family dysfunction, and reunions had me glued to every page. I read Blood Diamond in one sitting the first time.

RJ Blain's characters, the relationships between them, and their interactions are my favorite thing about her books. Her characters are so well-written they feel real. Even her secondary characters, Gerald, Zachary, Jackson's parents, and Amber are written as fully fledged people, not simply space-occupying figures.

I always worry I will gush too much and people will think I am exaggerating when I write a review for a book I love. Blood Diamond with its witches, Fenerec, evil doings, and mystery is what I believe an urban, or contemporary, fantasy should be.

I cannot wait to read the continued adventures of Jackson, Evelyn, Richard, Nicole, Vicky, and Elliot in book #4, Silver Bullet.

Blood Diamond Witch Wolf Book 3 edition by RJ Blain Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I could not put it down. Ever. Jackson and Evelyn were wonderful protagonists. I want to read even more about them. RJ Lain writes very creative books. Very.
Read this to learn more of the life and times of an earth witch with vulpine tendencies (and relatives). Also, to enjoy yourself thoroughly!
This book is marvellous, I loved Dante from the start to the end. He is so shy and coming out of his shell.
RJ Blaine has written the most wonderful series. I couldn't put down any of the Witch & Wolf books. I never knew what would happen next. All three books had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I do love book 3 the most. The characters were loving, tough, loyal, fierce and I fell in love with all of them. At times what was happening in the story seemed so far fetched I didn't see how it would fit in, but it always did. I wish it wasn't over and hope there will be a book 4! I want more of where they go from here. Thank you for this wonderful journey.
I will start off being candid buy this series, and support this author. She is as humble and passionate about her stories as any author I have spoken to, and her talent is really starting to be cut and polished.
Blood Diamond starts off a hair slow, but quickly ramps up the action, and the foot only lifts off the accelerator to relieve the reader with some thoroughly entertaining dialogue before they are swept off to the next destination. Plot twists are well plentiful and well placed to keep you on edge, and the main character's plight is hilariously sympathetic (though certain points are kind of glossed over that I hope are simply being saved for the final book in the series).
I would highly recommend reading the first two books in the series, not just because they are also quite entertaining, but also because they introduce you to a few of the characters present, and the story does gain immensely from being familiar with them right off the bat. They are incredibly rowdy, and at times the dialogue can get a bit chaotic as they fire shots back and forth, but it is rarely distracting and reads like a group of close friends ribbing each other and generally having a good time.
I have to say, this book, and the entire series so far, are one of my favorite hidden gems from an recommended email. At this price, it is an absolute steal from the sheer entertainment value alone. Add in that these books are obviously sincere labors of love and hard work, and you have a recipe for a thoroughly enjoyable read.

I must say, the final novel can't come soon enough.
Blood Diamond was-- by far-- the best book of this excellent series. The complexity of the plot line, and the slow unveiling of Jackson's powers were very well done! Speaking of Jackson, aka Dante, if it weren't for bad luck, he wouldn't have any at all-- I cringed for every time he ended up in the hospital. And, on a cameo note I adored Richard in Winter Wolf, and I've fallen more in love with his character during this book. Some of the situations were outrageous, but the Over-the-top scenarios give the writer an opportunity to shine with witty dialogue and endearing characters. Although this book contained some noticeable edit errors, and a logic error with wolves smelling lies, it was a great wrap up to a favorite series, and deserving of full stars
A welcome addition to the series. I find the series a bit odd in that the time sequence is trending backwards from the first book, however, if you were to read the books in reverse order there would be spoilers. The latest installment focuses on a new character, Jackson/Dante, and we get many appearances by characters we have already met in the previous two books. My one complaint would be how Vicky/Allison is treated in this book. She is very one dimensional and hardly there at all. She was the main character in book one and so well developed that I find it disappointing that she is just a stick figure in the current book.

The book goes into more detail about the workings of the Inquisition, but leaves many more questions to be addressed in future novels.
